How do you calculate sling tension and load control for a 4-leg bridle where only two legs share most of the load?

RIGX-002 · Rigging
For uneven 4-leg bridle loads, calculate tension using T = (Load × Load Factor) ÷ (2 × cos θ) where two legs carry the primary load.
When two legs of a 4-leg bridle carry most of the load due to uneven load distribution or rigging geometry, treat it as a 2-leg sling system for safety calculations. Calculate the tension in each working leg using the formula T = (Total Load × Load Factor) ÷ (2 × cos θ), where θ is the sling angle from vertical. Apply appropriate load factors: 1.5 for known uneven distribution or 2.0 for unknown conditions.
Reference: ASME B30.9 Slings Standard
Remember: "Two Legs Carry, Cosine Worry" - T = (Load × Factor) ÷ (2 × cos θ) for uneven 4-leg bridles
