Tadano Error 31 occurs when the AML (Automatic Moment Limiter) system loses communication between the upper rotating frame and lower carrier. This fault typically stems from damaged slip ring assemblies, corroded electrical connections, or broken wiring in the turntable area. The slip rings transfer power and data signals between the stationary lower frame and rotating upper frame during crane operation.
