How do you find the center of gravity on an asymmetrical HVAC unit?

CQ-014 · Technical
Calculate center of gravity by finding the balance point where the unit would remain level when supported at that single point.
For asymmetrical HVAC units, determine the center of gravity using the moment balance method. Measure the unit's length, width, and identify all major component weights and their positions. Calculate moments by multiplying each component's weight by its distance from a reference point, then divide the total moment by the total weight to find the center of gravity location.
Reference: ASME B30.5 Mobile and Locomotive Cranes standard
Remember: "BALANCE POINT = CENTER POINT" - Find where it stays level on one support
