Can I pass a DOT/Crane physical while taking prescription blood pressure meds?

CAREER-002 · Career
Yes, you can pass a DOT/crane physical while taking prescription blood pressure medications if your condition is well-controlled and stable.
Taking prescription blood pressure medications does not automatically disqualify you from passing a DOT physical examination for crane operations. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) allows commercial drivers and crane operators to take blood pressure medications as long as their hypertension is properly managed and controlled.
Remember: "CONTROLLED MEDS = CLEARED FEDS" (Well-controlled BP with meds still passes DOT physical)
