What should crane operators know about center of gravity?

AIQ-005 · Knowledge
Center of gravity is the point where an object's weight is evenly distributed. Operators must understand how load position affects crane stability and capacity.
Center of gravity represents the single point where all of an object's weight can be considered concentrated. For crane operators, understanding center of gravity is critical because it directly impacts load behavior, crane stability, and lifting capacity. When a load's center of gravity is not directly below the hook, the load will swing or rotate until it naturally aligns.
